(BANT) – Officials say a woman in Placer County survived a 60-foot fall off the underside of a popular bridge after she slipped while trying to take a selfie.

County sheriff’s officials say the unidentified woman walking on a catwalk underneath the 730-foot Foresthill Bridge near Auburn Tuesday when she slipped and fell 60 feet below while attempting to snap a picturesque shot of herself.

The woman landed on a trail below the bridge and was taken to the hospital where she is expected to recover. Sheriff’s officials say the area she was closed off.

    Can’t believe anyone could be this stupid. Social Darwinism at work, but she survived. Must have some higher purpose ahead of her in life. Maybe to tell others not to take selfies from dangerous places.
