UPDATE: One-Year-Old Who Died In Concord Swimming Pool Accident Identified As Walnut Creek Girl
(BANT) – A missing one-year-old girl who drowned in a swimming pool Sunday afternoon in Concord has been identified as Molly Scott from Walnut Creek, according to the Contra Costa County coroner’s office.
Police say they got a call at 4:43 p.m. from a home in the 2100 block of Leland Way reporting a missing one-year-old female child.
Officers arrived and joined family members in searching the area for several minutes before the child was found unconscious in a swimming pool at a relative’s home nearby. Officers performed CPR until paramedics arrived. The child was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Concord police Corporal Chris Blakely says the in-ground pool was surrounded by a 5 to 6-foot tall fence. He says they do not yet know how the child got into the pool area.
