(BANT) – Two juveniles were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of robbing someone of their cellphone, police said.

On Sunday, a Vacaville resident advertised his phone for sale on a digital application. The suspects contacted the resident through the application, expressing interest in purchasing the phone.

According to police, when the victim arrived at the location where they agreed to meet, the suspects robbed him at gunpoint and took the cellphone. The suspects then listed the phone for sale on a different application.

When the victim later saw the advertisement, he notified police who continued to investigate.

Tuesday night, detectives arrested two juvenile suspects responsible for the robbery. Their names and photos are not being released because of their age, police said.

The phone was returned to the victim.

For safety purposes, anyone meeting strangers in person to purchase or sell items can do so in the front lot of the Vacaville Police Department, which has video surveillance, police said.
