(BANT) – Police in San Jose say three people died in two different shootings at a home Wednesday night, one of those involving one of their officers who had arrived on the scene.

It started at 9:01 p.m. when officers responded to the 1000 block of Laura Ville Lane on a report of a person shot. They arrived at a home to find two people dead from gunshot wounds. The SWAT team was reportedly called in and it was then that the officer-involved shooting took place. An unidentified male suspect was struck by a bullet and pronounced dead at the scene

No other injuries were reported and there are no other outstanding suspects. The officer involved in the shooting will be placed on routine paid administrative leave. This marks the second officer-involved shooting in San Jose in the past 24 hours.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office and the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit are conducting a joint criminal investigation. The case is being monitored by the San Jose Police Department’s Internal Affairs Unit, the City Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Independent Auditor.
