Third Suspect Still On The Loose Following Wild Weekend Police Chase In San Jose
(BANT) – San Jose police say they are searching for a man who took part in a chase across the city on Sunday evening after almost running down a police officer.
Around 7:30 p.m., officers noticed a disturbance taking place in the 4000 block of Monterey Road near Capitol Expressway in South San Jose, according to police Officer Albert Morales.
Police tried to make contact with the primary person involved, but he walked away and climbed into a waiting vehicle that turned out to be stolen, and where an juvenile wanted for attempted homicide was waiting.
Officers drove in front of the vehicle to block it from leaving, but the driver put the car in reverse and tried to flee. While doing so, police said the car almost struck a an officer who moved out of its path. It then drove forward and hit a parked, occupied vehicle.
One person in the suspect vehicle got out and tried to run away, but was arrested. The suspect vehicle sped off but found it and gave pursuit before it hit a parked car at Harriet and Alum Rock avenues.
Three people got out of the car and ran off. Two of them were arrested immediately, but the third remained at large.
