(BayAreaNewsTalk.com) – A Mt. Pleasant High School teacher who was arrested on campus yesterday has been placed on paid administrative leave, according to East Side Union High School District Superintendent Chris Funk.

Tom Tran, 46, was arrested Thursday at work on suspicion of stealing two Coach bags from a store at the Valley Fair mall earlier this year, according to San Jose police.

Funk said today that the paid leave for Tran is standard procedure. He added that district officials would wait on more information from police and the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office before making a decision on Tran’s future with the district.
