(BayAreaNewsTalk.com) – Three suspects stole several items from a jewelry case at a Costco store in Hayward this morning, police said.

The robbery occurred at the Costco at 28505 Hesperian Blvd. shortly after 10 a.m. today, according to Sgt. Tasha DeCosta.

A store security guard tried to stop the three suspects but they were able to get away in a gray four-door Toyota Corolla, DeCosta said.

Investigators don’t have a good description of the suspects at this time but will be reviewing video surveillance of the robbery to develop more information, she said.

Investigators also will be looking into whether the robbery is connected to several other recent jewelry robberies and burglaries at Costco stores in the Bay Area, including Danville, Concord, Foster City and Novato, according to DeCosta.
