Suisun City: Man Arrested For Murdering Daughter-In-Law With Hammer Says She Was Disrespectful (PHOTOS)
(BANT) – Police say a Suisun City man is under arrest for killing his daughter-in-law with a hammer at their home because she was being disrespectful.
Amarjit Singh, 63, confessed to the bludgeoning death of 29-year-old Shameena Bibi, whose body was found Tuesday morning in the garage at the family home at 804 Blue Bill Way.
Police say Singh was upset because Bibi was being disrespectful, although it’s not clear what he meant. He allegedly confronted her in the garage and beat her with the hammer. Bibi reportedly lived in the northern Suisun City home with her husband, 2-year-old son, and her husband’s parents.
Police received a call from a family member around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday about a body in the garage. Officers found Bibi with blunt force trauma to the head and she was declared dead at the scene.
Officials say they called in a Punjabi translator as well as the Solano County District Attorney’s Office and FBI, who joined the investigation.
The family was interviewed until late Tuesday night. Singh confessed to the murder during a follow-up interview shortly after midnight today. He was booked into Solano County Jail on suspicion of murder.
