(BayAreaNewsTalk.com) – A stranger grabbed a 15-year-old girl’s hand and threatened her on a street in the unincorporated community of North Fair Oaks last weekend, but she was able to flee without injury, San Mateo County sheriff’s officials said today.

At about 9 p.m. Saturday, the suspect walked up to the girl as she was walking in the area of the 2500 block of Middlefield Road. He told her that something bad was going to happen to her, grabbed her hand and kept her from walking away, sheriff’s officials said.

The victim was eventually able to pull away and ran. The suspect also fled and was described as a black man about 5 feet 10 inches tall who weighs between 160-180 pounds and was wearing all black clothing, according to the sheriff’s office.

Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the sheriff’s office at (650) 363-4911 or the anonymous tip line at (800) 547-2700.
