(by James Laranas) – Six people, two with serious injuries, were taken to hospitals after a 10-vehicle crash in north Santa Rosa this morning, police said.

Six of the 10 vehicles burned in the 9:25 a.m. crash at the intersection of Fountaingrove Parkway and Mendocino Avenue. The fires from collisions caused plumes of black smoke in the sky that were visible for several miles.

Several roads in the area are expected to be closed for most of the day, police said.

The closures included northbound Mendocino Avenue at Bicentennial Way, southbound Old Redwood Highway at the Mendocino Avenue off-ramp, the Mendocino Avenue over-crossing at Cleveland Avenue and westbound Fountaingrove Parkway at Round Barn Boulevard.
