(BayAreaNewsTalk.com) – A robbery suspect died on Friday evening in East San Jose after police shot them during a traffic stop, police said.

At 7:04 p.m., officers near North White and Penitencia Creek roads tried to pull over a vehicle, which contained a person who had a felony warrant for robbery, according to police.

As officers were trying to make the traffic stop, shot were fired and officers ultimately struck the suspect at least once, police said.

The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
