(BayAreaNewsTalk.com) – Residents have been displaced and an orange cat has gone missing in the wake of a fire near Lake Merced Park in San Francisco this morning, where crews are still at the scene of a two-alarm structure fire at a 13-story building.
Firefighters responded at 5:36 a.m. to a report of a fire at 125 Cambon Drive. By 7:24 a.m. the fire had been brought under control.
Responding crews located a fire on the seventh floor of the building.
The San Francisco Fire Department is reporting two victims have been rescued from the blaze and transported to the hospital.
A third victim had been reported, but firefighters later said that individual did not require medical care.
The fire department evacuated the sixth, seventh and eighth floors of the building, and the rest of the building was ordered to shelter in place. That order has since been lifted.
Firefighters said the fire has been put out, but crews are still assessing the situation.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
