(BANT) – Marshawn Lynch is coming home, according to inside sources at the Oakland Raiders.

Rumors have brewing for weeks (months?) that Lynch, who retired last year from the Seattle Seahawks, was interested in playing with the Raiders for the 2017/2018 season. Now that the move to Las Vegas has been approved, and the Raiders plan to play in Oakland through the 2019 season, a source says Lynch will be suiting up in the silver and black.

‘If they were moving to Las Vegas this year, we wouldn’t even be talking about Lynch. It’s because they’re staying home and they have to keep the Oakland fans happy,” the anonymous source told BayAreaNewsTalk.com. ‘Lynch is possibly the greatest football player to ever come out of Oakland. He gives a lot back to the community and people view him as a hero. Because of that, Davis says obtaining Lynch is one of his top priorities. It’s all about the money and keeping people interested in the local product,” the source said.

The Seahawks would first have to release Lynch, something the source says is already a done deal. ‘The ‘hawks have already given Lynch their blessing and told him they will do whatever makes him happy. They’ve moved on from him. It’s all worked out behind the scenes.’

The source said the Raiders are ready to do whatever it takes to get Lynch, but whether or not Lynch plays for his hometown team next year is all up to him.
