(BANT) – The Oakland Unified School District is inviting students and families to learn about their rights at an immigrants’ resource fair today.

School district officials said immigration lawyers from Centro Legal de la Raza will conduct a “Know Your Rights” workshop and provide an overview of the district’s sanctuary schools policy.

Additional legal and community resources for immigrant families will also be available and there will be information on English as a second language programs, computer training and scholarships for summer camps, according to district officials.

The fair will be held from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the cafeteria at the Melrose Leadership Academy at 4730 Fleming Ave. in Oakland.

The “Know Your Rights” workshop will begin at 5 p.m.
