(BANT) – San Francisco’s new professional soccer team, the SF Deltas, is preparing to launch its first season with an event at the city’s Civic Center on Friday and an exhibition match this weekend.

The city’s Recreation and Park department is hosting a free Meet-the-Players event at Civic Center Plaza at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

The event will include soccer clinics for kids hosted by team players, with chances to get autographs, sign photos and pick up team swag, as well as face painting and instant photos.

The team is also scheduled to host an exhibition match at 7 p.m. Saturday at Kezar Stadium against the Sacramento Republic FC.

The team’s regular season begins March 25 and will include 16 home matches at Kezar through Oct. 28.

The Deltas, a Division II professional team that is part of the North American Soccer League, won permission last year to use Kezar as their home stadium.

Information on the team and on tickets can be found at sfdeltas.com.
