(BANT) – Firefighters say they rescued a naked man from a vent shaft on the outside of a Togo’s sandwich shop in Napa this morning.

Emergency crews were dispatched to 269 Soscol Ave. around 8:30 a.m. on report of a man stuck in a vent shaft. He had reportedly been there since Monday night.

When they arrived, they found that a door panel on the roof had been forced open and someone made access into a void space in the roof before falling into the shaft on the side of the building.

“We found him in a fetal position when we opened the space from the exterior,” Battalion Chief Charlie Rhodes said. “It was an unusual rescue for us.”

Rhodes did not know the extent of the man’s injuries, but said he was transported to a hospital. He referred further questions about the case to the Napa Police Department.
