(BANT) – Milpitas police are investigating a kidnapping of a 13-year-old girl from her home on Tuesday while her family was out, a police captain said.

The girl’s family returned home and called police at 8:23 p.m. to report the girl missing from their Edsel Drive home, police Capt. Daryl Sequeira said.

Officers responded and as they were taking a police report the girl called her family and told them she had been kidnapped by two males.

“They came in and forced her out of the house,” Sequeira said. The two suspects forced the girl in a light-colored sedan. Then they forced her to walk down the street to the south end of town while they followed her in the sedan.

The suspects made her get back in the car and they drove around the north side of San Jose. She escaped and called her family.

Officers identified her location, picked her up and took her home.

The girl suffered abrasions to one arm and possibly other injuries, but Sequeira would not elaborate.

One suspect was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and the other a gray sweatshirt. Both were wearing cargo pants, Sequeira said.

Sequeira said it appears to be an isolated incident.
