Highway 37 Under Three Feet Of Water, Westbound Closed Indefinitely (PHOTOS, VIDEO)
(BANT) – Marin CHP officials say part of a major commuting route remains shut off this morning due to flooding with no estimate of when it may reopen.
Highway 37 westbound is closed from Atherton Avenue to US 101. The roadway had been closed in both directions since around 11:30 p.m. last night due to flooding but the eastbound lanes have since reopened.
Officials say the water is over three feet deep in some areas and there are three vehicles stuck in the water that will have to be removed before the roadway can be reopened.
The closure of Highway 37 would obviously have a major impact on the morning commute. Dangerous conditions last night forced the CHP to close Highway 101 at the Marin/Sonoma county line but it has since reopened.
