(by James Lanaras) – A former temporary employee at a Santa Rosa food-manufacturing company was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of committing vandalism and arson at the business, a Santa Rosa police sergeant said.

A small fire in the office area of Amy’s Kitchen at 2330 Northpoint Parkway on Jan. 15 caused significant damage estimated at more than $60,000, Sgt. Marcus Sprague said.

Evidence at the fire scene led detectives to 24-year-old Brandon Gossett of Santa Rosa, Sprague said. Gossett was released from employment just a few days after the fire, Sprague said.

Gossett was booked in the Sonoma County jail for felony arson, vandalism and violating his probation, Sprague said.

He is scheduled to appear in Sonoma County Superior Court Monday morning.
