(BayAreaNewsTalk.com) – Police in San Jose have arrested a daycare aide in connection with the sexual assault of a minor.

The suspect, who police said is believed to be a minor at the time of the incident, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault of a minor under 14 years old, according to the San Jose Police Department.

On Wednesday police received a report about a 9-year-old who was touched inappropriately by a daycare aide at Jumping Up Learning Circles school daycare program at 5965 Almaden Expressway.

The suspect was apprehended near the business without incident and was taken into custody, according to police. According to police, the suspect is 18 years old.

The suspect’s name was withheld by police.

The department’s Internet Crimes Against Children/Child Exploitation Detail is working with the daycare program to identify other children who might have been victimized, according to police.
