Brentwood police are searching for a suspect in a stabbing attack that left a man with an injury to his leg Tuesday afternoon.

At about 4:20 p.m., officers responded to a call about a man lying on the ground in the 500 block of First Street suffering from a 2-inch stab wound to his lower leg, police said.

The victim, a 29-year-old Brentwood man, was apparently stabbed while he was in the 400 block of Diablo Way, then walked the short distance to First Street where he “summoned assistance,” Brentwood police said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and later released.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call Brentwood police Detective J. Veillette at (925) 809-7767.
