(BANT) – One of two suspects wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing in late 2015 in North Richmond was arrested in Mexico last week, Contra Costa County sheriff’s officials said.

Guillermo Sanchez, 22, was arrested Jan. 24 in Guadalajara and is back in California.

Sanchez is wanted for the killing of 23-year-old North Richmond woman Isela Moreno, according to sheriff’s officials.

The other suspect is Lamont Peterson, 19.

Moreno was stabbed at about 6:45 p.m. Thanksgiving Day at a home in the 400 block of Market Avenue where deputies found her bleeding from more than one stab wound. She died at the scene.

Sanchez has been taken to the county jail in Martinez where he is being held on $2,050,000 bail, sheriff’s officials said.

There was no word today about the whereabouts or investigation into the search for Peterson. In November, sheriff’s officials said both men were armed and dangerous.
